Applications are invited for the following fellowship for the year 2022-2023.

Guidelines and Criteria
1. Only Life members of IOA are eligible.
2. Last date for applications to be loaded via ‘Google Document’ is October 31, 2022.
3. After uploading the application via the link mentioned above, all attachments must be scanned in PDF format and and sent via email, as a Zip File, to ioa.foreign.fellowship@gmail.com , ioahousedelhi@gmail.com , hon.secretaryioa@gmail.com ,
4. Attachments must include (in this specific order) and labelled as follows:
a) Attachment 1: Curriculum Vitae
b) Attachment 2: Passport page containing the photograph
c) Attachment 3: Degrees (D.Orth / MS / DNB / Other)
d) Attachment 4: First page of all publications in IJO / Indexed Orthopaedic Journals (for more than one label as 4a, 4b, 4c,……)
e) Attachment 5: Certificates of paper presentation in State, National and International Conferences (label as 5a, 5b, 5c…..)
f) Attachment 6: Certificates of awards
g) Attachment 7: Certificates of Fellowships
5. A member will be selected for only one foreign fellowship. Any member who has availed an IOA foreign fellowship in the past, is not eligible to apply again.
6. Applicant can apply for a maximum of three fellowships at a time

8. Communication only via e-mail will be entertained.
9. Any wrong information furnished will automatically disqualify the application.
10. The result will be uploaded to the IOA website on December, 2022.

Presently the following Foreign Fellowships are available:
1. IOA Arthroplasty Fellowship: Age Criteria: <45 years on December 31, 2022.
This fellowship is sponsored by IOA to enable to the selected candidate to visit and work in arthroplasty centre outside the country for a period of one to two weeks. The Foreign fellowship committee will arrange the Center for attachment, accommodation for the duration of the fellowship and economy class airfare. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
2. IOA – BIOS UK Senior Fellowship: Age Criteria: >45 years on December 31,2022.
The selected candidate will visit a center of excellence in the UK (arranged in collaboration with the British India Orthopaedic Society) and attend the Annual Congress of the British Orthopaedic Association in 2023, where he will have an opportunity of a podium presentation. The IOA will provide a sum of Rs,1,00,000 to the selected fellow.
3. IOA – BIOS UK Junior Fellowship: Age Criteria: <45 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will visit a center of excellence in the UK (arranged in collaboration with the British India Orthopaedic Society) and attend the Annual Congress of the British India Orthopaedic Society in 2023, where he will have an opportunity of a podium presentation. The IOA will provide a sum of Rs,1,00,000 to the selected fellow.
4. IOA – Ireland Fellowship : Age Criteria: <45 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will visit a center of excellence in the Ireland (arranged in collaboration with the Irish Orthopaedic Association) for a duration of up to two weeks. The IOA will provide a sum of Rs,1,00,000 to the selected fellow.
5. IOA – Malaysia Exchange Fellowship : Age Criteria: <45 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will visit a center of excellence in the Malaysia and then attend the Annual Conference of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association in 2023, where he will have an opportunity of a podium presentation. The accommodation for the entire duration of stay, hospital visitation, and registration to the conference will be arranged complimentary by the MOA. Economy class airfare will be provided by the IOA. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
6. IOA – Turkey Exchange Fellowship : Age Criteria: <45 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will visit a center of excellence in the Turkey and then attend the Annual Conference of the Turkish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 2023, where he will have an opportunity of a podium presentation. The accommodation for the entire duration of stay, hospital visitation, and registration to the conference will be arranged complimentary by TOTBID. Economy class airfare will be provided by the IOA. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
7. IOA – Singapore Ambassadorship : Age Criteria: <40 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will attend the Annual Conference of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association in 2023. Local hospitality, accommodation and registration to the conference will be arranged complimentary by SOA. Economy class airfare will be provided by the IOA. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
8. IOA – Hong Kong Ambassadorship : Age Criteria: <40 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will attend the Annual Conference of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association in 2023. Local hospitality, accommodation and registration to the conference will be arranged complimentary by HKOA. Economy class airfare will be provided by the IOA. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
9. IOA – Korea Ambassadorship : Age Criteria: <40 years on December 31, 2022.
The selected candidate will attend the Annual Conference of the Korean Orthopaedic Association in 2023. Local hospitality, accommodation and registration to the conference will be arranged complimentary by KOA. Economy class airfare will be provided by the IOA. The selected fellow will be required to arrange his own the visa and medical insurance.
10. IOA - AOA Exchange Fellowship:
Regarding this fellowship, Australian Orthopaedic Association provides 2 fellowships for IOA members. Reciprocating to that effort, IOA would give two travelling fellowships to Australian Orthopedic Association members. Their registration, accommodation and local hospitality will be provided by the host nation. One year IOA fellows will go there and one year their fellows will come in India. (One year gap). There is no age limit. In the year 2023, two fellows will go from the IOA and their economy air fare will be provided by the Association.
